Winchester 69 Bolt-action rifle
Made from 1935-1937
5 or 10-shot box mag
Peep or open rear sight
Rifle cocks on Closing Motion of the Bolt...may accidently fire at this time.

Winchester 69A
made from 1937-1963
Action changed to cock by the Opening motion of the bolt.
Models with grooved receivers command 20% higher prices.
Three models during that period...
Model 69A standard - open sights.
Match model with Lyman 57EW reciever sight, add 25% to price
Target model with Winchester Peep rear sight, swivels & sling, add 35% to price.

I get sad when I hear about inherited guns getting priced for sale.

Take it to a gunsmith. They'll tall what you need to know.
