Is it true that the only gun that can truely be silenced in a .22 ruger?

Shot one Ruger that was "silenced".It wasnt that quiet and the sub sonic ammo made it jam quite often.Seemed like a waste of money.

Not quite true. A few states allow ownership for dealer/manufacturers but not private citizens.

You just have to have an FFL with an 02 or 03 SOT to own them.
Suppressors are legal to own in more states than not.

Here in Arkansas they are very popular and we can hunt with them.

One of my buddies took an old ranger .22 semi auto and suppressed it. I don't remember what kind of can it was but it was quiet. You could push the charging knob in and lock the bolt turning it into a straight pull single shot. As I remember it was very accurate but with that long barrel and big can on the end it was way long. He was talking about cutting the barrel and magazine tube back some but I don't know if he ever did.
