Default Thoughts on a mossberg 152 semi? Reliability? Hi-cap mags?

Does anyone have a mossberg 152?
I saw one at my LGS today and thought it was a neat little piece. The flip down fore-grip was cool. Finish was not perfect. They wanted $125.
If I thought I could find "high capacity" magazines for it I would have bought it on the spot.
Thoughts?

This rifle has not been manufactured since the mid to late 50's and it is difficult to find the magazine for it.

Hi caps were not around in those Days. 152 was the Semi, and 142 was a Bolt action. The fold down front grip was a Plus, and I noticed they all came with scopes. Probably a good small game gun/Plinker.....

Actually, they came with a rear peep sight. Most were grooved to add a scope (don't ask me how, but I have 3 of the 152's, a 142, couple of 51M's, and 4 of the 151K's. Things got out of hand)

The 152 was made 1948-1957. You can get 10 round mags from havlinsales.com. These are great plinkers or hunters. They were replaced by the 352. Price has been inching up on these. Prices on the 142 is ridiculous!

The one I looked at had the rear peep Sight and it was grooved for a scope.

Frequently people would take the peep sights off when they put a scope of them. And then would LOSE the freakin' sights! You have no idea how much the sights on some of the old Mossbergs sell for on Ebay...
