Light weight
S&W M&P15-22 rifle is built with high strength polymer upper and lower, lighter than the Colt. It does have the iron sites that are detachable.
Availability
Another reason is availability in my area, none of the other .22 Tacticals were available.
Cost
Accuracy on target at 100 yards. I have dropped over 5000 rounds since Dec 2009.
The iron sites work; but, with age comes eyesight and scope comes into play!
