Hello everyone,

New to the forum here. Im looking at building a Tactical 22lr with a bull barrel for accuracy. What is a good base 22lr to start with. I know i could buy a S & W15-22 but that takes all the fun out of the build. I would like for it to end up looking the way the 15-22 does. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Build a 223/5.56 lower and get a rimfire upper.

Easy Peasy.

Or get a 10/22 and put a heavy barrel etc on it, and then you can look at all the aftermarket stocks they have which give it an AR style look. There is a ridiculous assortment of aftermarket parts for the 10/22

How would I do that? Is there a way to basically build a 223 without getting a fully built gun?

You can buy a stripped lower and lpk (lower parts kit) pretty cheap, and then buy whatever upper you want for it.

That's what build a "Lower" means.

WTF is a tactical .22? Black w/ rails? It defeats the purpose of a light, fast pointing fun gun. Make it weigh as much as a M1 Garand in a true mouse gun. Seriously?

If that's what the man wants what's wrong with that? It's his money and his gun, more power to him if he wants a "tactical" .22
