You can get the offset rails and use your original sights.

I have a GSG 522 SD and love it! its out getting the stock, trigger housing, and hand gaurd duracoated Magplu FDE and i just ordered a Magpul AFG2 for it.

Well, the truth of the matter is, they are not "tactical" in the real sense of the word. I have three of the "black" rifle .22s: Colt M4 .22, GSG MP5, and the SIG 522. All these, including the S&W MP22 are meant to be "fun" guns and nothing more IMHO. Anyone thinking that they are going to mimic a real AR, MP5, or SIG 556 is mistaken; that includes the much vaunted S&W. All these are blowback; not a gas port or piston in sight.

.22 ARs are used quite a bit for training purposes. The manipulation of the rifle really doesn't change due to gas, blow-back, or piston. What matters is if the safety, mag release, etc. work in similar fashion.
