I vote for CZ, Savage, and Henry, in that order. I have a CZ 453, and a Savage, and I would like a Henry. Savage is nice because they have so many options.
The CZ 452/453/455 would be good if you like bolt guns. The Anschutz would be terrific if you could afford it. A few years ago I found a Ruger 10/22 in .22 Mag and rebuilt it just like I did my regular 10/22 with a heavy GM barrel, Kidd trigger and Hogue stock. It shoots nearly as well as my similar 10/22 in .22LR.
[QUOTE=gunsmoke11;1084668]It depends on what you want to spend. You get what you pay for. I can't think of anything much better than the Anschutz .22 mag. Most won't pay the price until they have an opportunity to shoot one. Mine's an old model 1518 mannlicher with a Weatherby scope. Hitting targets well over 200 yards is no problem.
I have been borrowing a Marlin XT from a friend to hunt coyotes. It is a good shooting rifle. It is not a flimsy toy. The Marlin is drilled and tapped for a scope and it actually has iron sights. I have been shooting the marlin with open sights. If I can see the coyote he is dead. I have killed more coyotes with the marlin than my AR-15. Almost anyone that has livestock will let me hunt on their property using the 22 WMR. The Marlin XT is next on my list of guns to buy. Another thing the 22 WMR has going for it is you can find 22 WMR ammo almost anywhere.
