Look for used Wichester Mdl 52 Sporter 22 LR rifle and a Smith&Wesson Mdl K 22 hand gun to see what fine firearms are like. Ruger makes the 77 22 rifle and the target 22 semi auto hand gun which are quite accurate. A used sporter weight Ruger 10-22 22 RF can be had at times for around $125 . The 10-22 can be up graded with after market parts to make them into accurate rifles see RimfireCentral.com - Rimfire Community! I had a Mdl 60 but the one I had was not very accurate with any ammo I tried. Iv not had much luck with any lower cost 22 rimfire hand guns.

No matter what you get you're going to go just fine if you can shred the x-ring at 150 with a .22...
