No surprise that the custom gun out shot the stock one and I'd bet a lot would have to do with the terrible trigger on the stock one. Given the choice, I'd take the stock one though and modify it to suit my needs. That's why I love the 10/22 so much, because there's so much out there you can do as much or as little to it as you want to and truly make it exactly what you need/want.
