I have a springfield mod 86 c 22 lr does any body know any thing about it? thanks

Bolt action 22? Tube fed? REALLY slender wrist? Got 3 of em. Springfield (no relation to current Springfield Armory) was a name used by Savage/Stevens.

In 1920, Savage purchased J. Stevens Arms, a company which was associated with the famous barrel maker, Harry Pope. Later, Savage acquired the assets of Page Lewis Company, Davis-Warner Arms, Crescent Firearms, and A.H. Fox, thereby becoming the largest firearm company in the free world.

Most of the 86 series seems to be early 40s-early 50s. Due to the somewhat incestuous relation of the companies, you might find them marked Springfield, J. Stevens or Savage- or other names. Not real pricy, nice utility grade hunting rifles (I blush to tell you what I paid for one of mine) These were also produced as "hardware store" guns- one of mine is marked as Gamble's Store Pioneer. One that actually has a rather fancy stock is marked "Buckhorn Rifle".

My grandkids love them- the wrist (grip) fits a youngster's hand very well. What did you want to know?

Do you have udjustable rear sight? because mine doesnt and i cant find one anywheres to buy one
