Hat is meant by the term sight height when used for calculating bullet drop? Is it the distance from bore to center of apperature?

yes.

but the bullet doesnt really care how tall the sight is. the main reason people like a low mount is it allows for a better cheek to stock weld. the higher the scope is off the gun the harder it is to keep proper repeatable weld.

for long range shooting the higher scope mounts (if im not mistaken) means less reticle movement there is after zero for majing adjustments for distance.

As said. Think about it for a moment- when you are calculating bullet strike in inches hi/low, where is the sight in relation to the bore? Is it a fixed sight- or a 50mm scope sitting a half inch above the barrel? One adds a quarter inch, one adds an inch and a half.

Yeah, center of the rifle bore to the center of the aperture or scope crosshairs.
