Unless I planned to need to pack it into a small place I would go with the standard. I have never handled a take down and if I did I might change my mind. I have 3, the one with the bull barrel, one set up for suppressor use and one with full length laminated stock which I think was only sold at Wally World.

I've shot both and Own a takedown and It's DEFINITELY worth it . Cleaning the reciever and the barrel has never been so easy to do . On top of that I can go trail hiking or Dualsport riding and keep the trusty ol 10/22 takedown right in my 5.11 rush 72 pack .
I'd say it's a solid advantage in several areas over a std 10/22 .
But my favorite plinker to date ( maybe just cause it's my newest ??? I dunno but it sure is fun ) is my Savage MKII bolt gun . I actually like it with no scope. It makes plinking cans a little more challenging at 50 yards.
