Not all women are the same chief . Some may shoot a .44 mag well others couldn't hit the broadside of the barn well with a .22 mag .

As I said it all comes down to who is doing the shooting .

+1, my girlfriend loves shooting the .44 mag revolver and gets upset at shooting 9mm because it's too small and refuses to shoot a .22, as where my sister nearly drops her .380 on every pull of the trigger and steps back like she can't handle it.

Both will work---that said I prefer a bigger number than either. (hint it starts with a 4 and ends with a five or is a .357)

Once again I'll be the 10mm auto groupie. I personally favor that rd over any .180gr golden saber 10mm underwood is my SD HD rd of choice.

seriously, the 9mm is the choice to make for sure. bigger, faster and more energy. but, my theory is to be well practiced with any and all firearms that i own. if my 22 pistol was the only one i could get to, then i can be able to defend myself with it if needed. what if my 12 ga O/U was the only shotgun i could get to? not the perfect SD/HD shotgun for sure, but better than nothing.

it's good if a person has choices, but not everyone does.
hope there are only 2 bad guys when you grab the O/U

Despite all the debate of which caliber is the best no one wants to get shot with a 22. I saw a drunk girl empty a barroom out with a Glenfield 22. I am sure several people in the establishment were carrying larger caliber pistols. No one drew their pistol to stop her. One biker dude was so frightened he never left his bar stool. When she ran out of ammo he calmly walked up to her and took the gun before she could reload it. When he was asked why he didn't take cover he replied I didn't do anything to offend the girl.

quite possibly i only need to get one of them. highly likely the massive amount of blood from the dead BG should deter the others. the sight of blood and lots of it makes most people a bit squeamish!
