Default Savage mark ii tr

Jus ordered a savage mark II TR 22lr , never owned a savage but hear good thangs on them. Was a hard choice between the 22lr an 17hmr in there TR model , so I went with the 22lr cause its cheaper to shoot an since I already own a few 22s I have plenty of ammo to bang up. Anybody have the TR model or any info on how it shoots.

I don't have the TR model, but I do own both 22lr and 17hmr Savage rifles. Both have accutrigger, and are super accurate. I find the 22lr maxes out around 75 yards. This is where the 17hmr starts to shine. Dropping bushy tails at 100+ yards is cake for the 17hmr. I love my 22lr for plinking and cheap ammo. But the bushy tails get the 17hmr.

Thanks, I can't wait, I 've not shot the 17hmr much my cousin has a sweet looking 17hmr that's a savage, don't know the model but its stainless bull barrel in a thumb hole stock. I've had a 22 mag marlin tube feed for years that I like 2 hunt with but I still would like to own a 17hmr an try it out on a few critters , its bound to be a good round when he has shot plenty of fox's an coon's above the house here an last fall he shot a deer back of the ear , he said it dropped like a rock

What scope did you put on yours?

That model centerpoint may be inexpensive, but it works very well.

The scope set good after bore sighting, hit a little high an right but dialed in nice, shot about 30 rounds of federal 40gr from 50 yards.

Shot a10 round group from 50 yards , pulled on one shot

Went back to 100 yards jus to see what groups I could get took 4 shots of federal 40gr an 4 shots of Winchester 40gr an the federal still grouped nice but the Winchester rounds spread way out an dropped below center
