Savage Mark II - Eject problem
 

Anyone have any ideas why a Savage Mark II .22 will not eject a live round but will eject a spent round? The gun is almost new and hasn't been used much. Thanks for your help.

Mine was having ejection problems when I first got it. You just have to break it in and clean it well after shooting. It took me 500-700 rounds to break the bolt in, and now it slides smooth as butter and ejects Well.

Keep shooting it...clean it...try different ammo. Mine has minor feed/eject issues with Winchester 555 bulk ammo. Federal bulk works like a champ.

Mine still does this occasionally when using CCI subsonic HP's. They have a driving band on them that makes them fit tight in some chambers, but they are very accurate. Like others have said, keep breaking it in & give the chamber a good scrubbing with a bore brush. Some .22 ammo has a wax type lube on it, this can gum up the chamber some time & make extracting more difficult.

Try shooting a lighter round or a different brand
