Default Savage factory stock

I have purchased several Savage MKII rifles with the plastic stocks. For some reason Savage can not get it through their heads that the drop is not compatible with scopes. I replaced the stocks on 2 of them which requires a new trigger guard and magazine plate. I recently bought a MKII FVSR and decided to try modifying the stock. I used a heat gun to bend a 6"x6" piece of Kydex and mounted it to the butt with 6x32 crimp nuts. The Kydex can be slotted for adjustment but for now it is lined up perfectly for the scope.

I'd love to see more details (pics) and narrative that describes your modification.

I really like the idea.
