I haven't seen any 10-round 22WMR mags by Savage. You are using the 22WMR for hunting, though, right? My Savage MarkII 22lr is for hunting AND plinking. I wouldn't, personally, use a 22WMR bolt action for plinking (or for self defense, for that matter).

If it is for hunting, then the extra time for switching out a 5-round mag shouldn't be a problem. Good luck finding a 10-rounder, though.

Yeah, there are 10rd mags listed for MKII, on CTD, & Savage.com. I just like the 22 mag better, & I don't shoot much of them, so ammo cost is somewhat irrelevant. If needed in the future, (SHTF), it would be for hunting. But not currently. Also, I happen to be one of those "too much mag capacity is never enough" people.

Maybe, I'm just missing it somewhere, but I am not able to find a 10-round magazine by Savage for the 22-mag. If only for the next guy coming to this thread through a search, post that link, please.

Try this: 17HMRMAG.COM

It's not by Savage so I can't say how well it will work? I'm still looking for one by Savage.

Sure it's a 5 round but the rifle is a bolt action. It's not like your gonna plink like a 10/22. I just bought a few Savage magazines and load 'em all up. Changing is pretty fast. Now as to accuracy - I've been shooting mine for 2 years and have a Nikon 3-9 Prostaff scope and shoot 1" or less groups (5 shots) consistently off a bench at 100 yards. I use Hornady V-Max 30gr as it seems to be the best for my gun.

Thanks for the info. I've been wondering how well those V-max bullets shoot, and it definitely sounds like they're worth a try.
