Default Savage.......

Well I finally got it wrestled away from my brother, I finally figured out what it was..........
It`s a Shapleigh`s King Nitro............
King Nitro was a trade name used by Shapleigh Hardware out of St. Louis, I believe they were built by Savage, a 15a is what I came up with, needs a little work but I think I can handle it, it`s been in my family as long as I can remember, it was one of the firearm I ever shot.........

It looks exactly like my 15-A. Mine has been in my family for about 40 years. I've owned it about 30 of those years. My neighbor owned it before my family did and he left it to dad after he died. That thing is as accurate as any .22 I own. If I could put a scope on it I'd be using it for target shooting.

It's also probably the most durable rifle I've ever seen. It only has 3-4 moving parts. I could probably replace the firing pin with the right size nail. It will likely still be working in about 300 years.
