Also check out the BSA Sweet 17 scope. It's made just for the .17HMR and the bullet drop compensator works like a champ. Drilled a crow at 240 yards with my boys with the cross hairs right on target...poof! Gophers go "splat", crows and pigeons go "poof".

I have a Savage in .17 HMR. I don't think if has the accu trigger. I can hit a dangling string at 100 yards. The gun is more accurate than I am.
A big plus is there is a lot of ammo out there for it.
I have a 24x 50mm scope on mine. I can see the twinkle in the groundhogs eye before I pull the trigger.
It is very loud compared to 22lr.
I paid $300 for mine a decade ago.
Well I ended up just purchasing the savage hmr .17 and dang it's an sweet little DEADLY gun. Just tears threw squirrels. Thank y'all for the advise and the help y'all gave me.
Last year I bought a Savage 22 mag, and a CZ 453 17HMR. Haven't shot the CZ but once so far. We'll see this spring. I do like the Savage, but the CZ has it in the fit & finish dept., plus they have an outstanding reputation.
Well took it out on the range today and was about to hit a nickel 5 times in a row at 100 yards y'all weren't kidding it will stack them. Awesome gun guys thanks
I bought a Marlin 917V a few years ago. Paid $200.00 and put a 4-14x40mmAO
on it that I did not care for on my CZ527. It shot 17gr like crap, but liked 20gr. After a few hundred rounds, I tried 17gr again. Shot fantastic. It really likes Hornady label ammo. Just a fun round. It is not a replacement for .22lr. Bobby, What scope did you put on it??
