The mags have a follower that you pull down as you insert bullets making it very easy to load......Many of the newer guns are coming out with this.

Fathead00.....I bought a Ruger 10/22 and a silver Simmons 3x9 scope for less than $160 before you were born and it still looks and shoots great.......To each his own, but I like the 10/22 in the orriginal finish without the added dodads....10 round rotary mag only.

I went to the range today and took my mossberg so my sister and wife could have a little fun. We put about a thousand rounds through it. The last six or seven hundred were rapid fire 25 round clips as fast as we could pull the trigger.(cool range attendants) and literally had zero fte's. When shooting at about fifty yards and actually aiming we had very tight patterns. I love the mossberg not only for the value but it's a quality gun that works like a 22 should.

I just bought a barely used 1986 built Ruger 10/22 stainless with a tiger-striped walnut stock. Just beautiful. I plan on getting some Volquartsen parts, Tech Sights, a few magazines, and leave it at that. No tactical here. I want to have fun, but can't bear to "tacticalize" this beautiful thing. Don't see any need for a tactical 22 anyway. Now, if it is on the AR-15 platform, at least you are practicing the skills necessary for your AR-15 work.

But a .22 is just for fun and maybe some trigger work.
