Do a price check on a legit factory checkered fingergroove sporter.
They are reportedly the "holy grail" of 10/22's and indeed are collectible.
The Blue Book says mine's worth about $300.....as a reg finger groove.
But if you look down a bit it says "factory checkered- add 300%).

Had some Ruger collector try to BS me on mine.

Then I told him my dad was in the RCA, I knew what I had. That ended his conversation.

Buddy also RCA, said the last one he saw, not as good as mine, got $950 and that was 2 yrs ago.
Market still strong. It's worth a K (maybe more) but I won't sell it.

Don't. It's worth more to you to hold it for a few years at least. How do you find out info about Ruger Collectors of America? I think I have enough of them to belong...

Why? Browning has a "collectors" edition 1911-22 in a box, with a Ka-Bar knife,...list is $749,...CDNN is selling it for $600...that my not go up in price, but so many others do....

Default the old Ruger is still the same

Right out the box the Ruger is ok for hunting, if you want a trigger as good as a marlin model 60 you have to mess with the trigger, it was that way 50 years ago and still the same today.
good thing they can be tweaked and they have upgrade kits.

My 80's era ruger 10/22 is stock with only the bolt buffer added.
