Hello All,
My old man has recently passed along an old Sears Roebucks Modle 6C (Canada) semi-auto .22 LR. I have shot it at the range mulitple times and it always has has atleast one FTF and/or stovepipe within 10 rds. I have stripped down, cleaned like crazy, and re-assmbled more then once with no change!
I would really like to get this rifle functioning great and will be replacing some parts. It appears that it uses the same parts from a Savage Model 64. Is this correct?
What parts should I purchase? I am currently looking to buy...
-Magazine
-Extractor
-Extractor Pin
-Extractor Spring
-Ejector
-Firing Pin
-Hammer Spring
-Bolt Spring
What else would you purchse or not purchase?

If it's not feeding I'd suggest buying a magazine or 3 and a recoil spring. The other parts you listed have nothing to do with the feeding problem. __________________

I have been looking at e-gunparts.com and I was planning to purchase from them. I will purchase mulitple magazines and the recoil spring you suggested, but will the ejector parts help with the stove piping?
I have used several different types of ammo (CCI Minimags, CCI Standards, Remington Golds (bulk), and Federal Bulk) and the issue seems to be the same with them all.
I did read it was a Winchester Cooey 64/64B, but I also read it was a Savage Modle 64. I have had more luck finding parts for the Savage Model.

Winchester and Savage are very different. If your rifle is a 6c, then it is a Cooey. You can buy parts for the Savage, but I doubt they would fit and may make a dangerous combination. | |

I'm showing the Sears Mod. 6-C to be a Winchester Mod. 490, .22 rimfire, 5 shot mag, 22" barrel,folding sight, checkered one piece stock, manufactured 1975 to 1980. (Blue Book)
