Default Remington Speed Master Help

Say Guys,

I have a Remington Speed Master, Model 552, .22 semi-auto I could use some help on. I purchased it probably in the late 70's or early 80's and have not shot it much, until now. It's still in pristine condition and want to start shooting it in some matches. Problem: I followed the disassembly instructions step by step and can NOT get the barrel separated from the receiver to clean the bolt mechanism. I tried everything I could think of and it seems like it's welded on. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There is an absolutely marvelous penetrating oil called KROIL- and the spray version is AEROKROIL. Spritz, let it set for a day.
What we have here is... failure- to communicate.
