Remington 597
Just picked one up a few days ago for 170$,camo stock. Got a tasco 3-9X40 scope and a 30rd mag for it too. I got it for some rabbit, squirrel, and varmint hunting as well as plinking.
First day at the range went well. Shot 1inch groups at 50-70 yrds. Very pleased with this! Great gun at a great price.

they come with one clip and a scope. i grabbed a scoped model in march of last year from dicks for 170 aswell. one thing you might want to do is loosen up your guide rod screws so it will cycle smoother, thats if it needs it. some people complain about fte's (failure to eject).

i have both editions lr and mag. you must get the volquartsen 597 hammers.
they will improve the trigger so much better and smooth as a baby's butt.
you can get them at hawktech on the rimfire central forum, and they don't charge freight.. i got two for just over $63. took me about 40 minutes to change my two and what a CHANGE. JUST MY O2 CENTS. but this item for the 597 id a must have, gets rid of that 5-8 lb trigger.

I bought one at WallyWorld a couple of years ago, camo stock. No scope and only 1 ten shot mag. The seam on the stock had a ridge on it, but I took a penny and used the edge to smooth it. I bought a scope for it and recently the factory 30 shot mag. It is wifey's favorite. I've never had any ejection problems. I bought box of 550 Remington bullets, and I was very disappointed with them. Easily 1 of every 5 of them failed to fire. I bought some CCI's, and bang every time.
