Remington 512 Sportmaster

I recently purchased a Remington 512 Sportmaster from a friend of my father's, and have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet. It is a beauty of a gun, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it.

I believe that is part of the Remington "teen series." I have a 514 that shoots great, but single shot just isn't my thing.

Reminds me of my Remington 582 I got when I was 11, a few years ago.

I had a standard 512 and a 512P (w/peep sight) and a 521T. All were fine guns.

The "Masters" were all neat little rifles. Have a RangeMaster, ScoreMaster, TargetMaster, etc and they are well made and fun guns.

A coworker just bought a speedmaster semi auto, tube feed. Does this cycle shorts and lr reliably? The gun is old, plain stock, but in real good shape. He said he would let it go for $200.

I love the 512. My father has one from the 50's or 60's. It was a tractor gun and was well used, but maintained. With the stock irons I have no prob hitting a bicycle reflector at 100 yards. 14 rounds of long rifle in the tube equals fun. Great little gun.
