Ok, I finally got the parts in...and it was a VERY fast job.
First ya needa Ramline M70 Lockarm stock from Numrich for $15.
Stock, Ram-Line Lock Arm, Synthetic


Then you needa Advanced Technology SKS Retrofit kit for $10


First you drill (5/16"bit) a centerpunch hole thru the center of the original stop and once the two pieces split, you push them out & then remove the lockarm, then remove the fixed cam with the blade.


Fold the lockarm across the stock and place the cam inside the hole with the spring on the bottom.

Stick the pin thru the top hole and leave about 3/8" above the stock...then tighten setscrew slightly and Check the lock/unlock function. Adjust if needed.


Tighten screw with a 5/64" allen wrench. Test several times & make sure it's right where you want it.


Slap in your 795/70/995/989/989m2/etc barrelled action and it's a done deal!!

There is a little play once you are done, but it's really not any worse than the wiggle it already had.
However, I think building up the back wall will resolve the stock slop...I'm considering epoxy or some sort of plastic filler.
Heck, even a little moleskin might do the trick

I finally finished my 795. I was waiting on the conversion kit. Put a paint job on the main part of the stock for a nice contrast. Got a UTG dove tail to Picatinny riser & mounted my Nikon 3-9x40 to test her out. 1-1/2" to 2" groups w/ Fed 550pack 36g HP @ 100-yard - Needs more breaking in & some trigger work.

I honestly hadn't thought of painting the plastic stock, but it definitely looks GREAT!!

Gives me a few ideas for upgrade later down the road on mine

My stock and kit are both in the mail. I'm gunna fit mine to a Model 60 tho. Shouldn't be too hard should it?

Nawp.
Just remember to remove material on the inside of the stock for the LSHO lever and the tip of the stock for the tube mag.

Also, you might want to take an thin piece of plastic and form it to make a cover for the mag well.
The last guy that listed doing a 60, used the 795 trigger guard with a piece of plastic glued inside the mag well.
I'm not sure if you need to dremel the mag well area down on the inside to make room for the tube mag,
but be aware that it's a possibility.
