22 tackdriver I don't have a picture of it and it now lives with mt youngest daughter. It is a 522P and has a gloge front with a hevy post and the rear peep unscrewed to see better with just the yellow porch light on. metel as very nice ,wood is surface cracking varnish. I need to lightly sane and redo.

downsouth the standard velocity is 1000ffps to 1100fps and the some of the shorts cb and longs can be down to around 740fps. Big difference noise from a along barrel. Just go to cci's site and learn the difference.

10/4 hardluk, was thinking about a good pellet gun for quiet hunting for small game if need be. I know how quiet a short can be, remarkably. But my 10/22 won't shoot them. I could probably finger load it in the action, but was thinking about a lever action that shoots any 22

It does pay to have a long barrel bolt rifle. Fuctions fine and is quiter as all the powder is burned in the barrel and the bullet will slow a bit more. The pellet rifles can be are louder.

Ye I would just purchase a pellet gun or get some cb rounds even some shorts are loud better off having a longer barrel than a short on to for cbs but I wish you luck with your problem

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'm gonna look for a cheapish bolt-action .22 rifle and feed it some CBs or Longs, see how that works out. Or run some CBs in my High Standard snubbie revolver.
