I started with a standard blued 10/22 with the Birch stock.
I found a Nikon 3-9x40 Pro-Staff scope in Realtree camo on sale and bought and mounted it. It looked weird on there.
I then found a factory Ruger synthetic stock in Realtree camo and swapped that out.
So then, I had a bued/camo'd 10/22. I kept telling myself that it didn't matter because it's just a plinker, but it kind of bothered me.
So, I disassembled it all and stripped all the blueing off. Then I sanded and primed all the metal and then painted it with Rustoleum Camouflage, ultra flat Army Green. It was a PITA to get it really clean and even, but eventually, it came out to my satisfaction.
So far, the paint is holding up well, but I sanded, primed and prepped the heck out of the metal.
It may not be everybody's taste, but I'm really happy with the results.

Do you think I should color/paint the scope ring and mount screws? I was going for a little contrast, but I'm open to suggestions. __________________ Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) - a system of government where those least capable of leadership are elected by those least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to succeed or provide for themselves are rewarded with goods and services paid for by wealth confiscated from a diminishing number of people who actually work and produce.

Yeah, I don't know, it might be too much of a good thing. Then again, like I said, I don't know.

Thanks. We'll see how the paint holds up. If it doesn't, I'll just Duracoat it. But then again, I also have a lot of paint left over.

Looks Great. I'd leave it as is.......+1 on not setting it down in the woods. __________________ "As an American, I was not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, but that America gave him the White House based on the same credentials"...Newt Gingrich

Nice work CA! I'd leave it as is, it's beautiful, at least what I can see of it! __________________ Molon Labe!
