Default Picked Up A Marlin 600 Today

A buddy of mine had a Marlin 600 for sale for $150. It has not been fired much, the furniture is in excellent condition, one or two minor blemishes on the bluing. Gold trigger (dang plastic trigger guard though) and gold lettering on the barrel. Shoots like a dream with the CCI Blazers. Not so much with the Winchester Super X Didn't try anything else I have in stock right now though. Came with a nice new canvas rifle case too.

Are these worth much compared to a Madel 60? This one is a Marlin, rather than one of the "brand name" rifles that Marlin popped out for other companies and branded them accordingly. From what I recall the "off brands" were worth less than the Marlins.

I'll be damned. Looked it up on Wikipedia and here's what it says:

Quote:
Marlin Model 600 - Made specially for Big 5 Sporting Goods between 86 and 89. This model is very rare because of the short production run, and little info is known. Came with a supremely durable gold-plated metal trigger instead of the standard polymer trigger, and a stainless steel breech bolt in lieu of the blue steel breech bolt on the Model 60.
