Default over did it

I got a 10/22 a couple of years ago, and I went the tacticool rout. It weighs around 15 pounds now, it has a 3x9 scope, a bx 25 mag tapco stock, heavy barrel, forgrip, bipod, a red dot, and a flashlight. Anyone else have a gun like this. I striped it, all I could do is bench shoot it so now it's just the stock, the red dot, and the bx 25 mag.

Can you post a pic? A 15 lb. rifle is waaay more than I want to be hefting and shooting.

Your title sums it up!

You managed to take "tacticool" to a non-tactical weight!

Take solace in your retreat condition is, at least, directionally correct.

Personally, I have this thing about keeping things basic.

I was issued a bunch of junk that I just kept in my pack. The only thing I mounted to my SAW was the cool red dot/visible laser sight.

yup get a lightweight barrel but in the bull dimensions. I made the same mistake on my 10/22.

Suggestions:
Replace the plastic fore grip with on that with one that has the Y bi-pod that slides up into the grip. that way you won't need that heavy bi-pod, it is out of the way when you don't want to use it.

ditch the scope or the red dot, decide on which one you need.
get a compact variable power scope if you go that route.

Just my ideas, your own may vary
