opinions please
I've been thinking lately, and my next firearms purchase may not be a nicer pistol after all. I've been thinking a lot about a rifle.
Is this a decent rifle? I want to stick with .22lr for cost/ease of getting my hands on them and I already have lots of these rounds. I like bolt action rifles and I like the 10rd magazine. I basically want something that's accurate to about 200 yards, inexpensive, and reliable. I've heard positive things about savage rifles so I'm asking here for a final say.
Also if above is NOT a good choice, any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It's a nice gun - but you won't be hitting anything with it at 200 yds! A .22 lr is a 50-75yd gun...maybe 100 yds at the max., but if you zero it at 100 yds., you'll be shooting too high to hit anything accurately at 50! You need to step up to a .22Mag or a .17 HMR for consistent 100 yd. shooting.

BTW, yeah I think that's a decent rifle especially for the cost.

At the bottom of the ad it says that is the price for the slim barrel version. i own a Savage 93r17 left hand bolt rifle......its very accurate. The accu trigger is awesome! It may be asking a bit much from the 22rf to shoot out to 200 yds tho,i dont think i could hit reliably that far with one. Just my 2 cents worth. Eye

Sorry, sometimes when I try to type numbers my brain wanders off. That was supposed to be 100 yards. Again sorry for the oops.

It looks like a dandy rifle for out to 100 yards providing you intended to top it with a decent scope. A rifle like that begs to be scoped to realize it's full accuracy potential. It'll likely shoot better than your ability to shoot it & the Accu-Trigger don't hurt either.

That will be a good shootin rifle out to 100 I am sure. Like bear said get a good scope nad use good target ammo.
Savage may look horrible but they shoot like a million bucks.

I bought one earlier this year, MK II FSS, the stainless version. Topped with a $50 Simmons scope, it shoots excellent, even out to 100 yards. Accutrigger is a steal on a gun at this price.
