I know it wasnt an option but a pump would only be second to a bolt in accuracy, and second to the SA in speed. My pick would be a 572 Remington.

beings i have a Marlin M60 i would go with that. now if i were to have to go out and a buy a 22 rifle, quite possibly would go with either a bolt action from Marlin or Savage. but the M60 is a very good semi auto 22 rifle. accurate, well made, and reliable. if i need to, it will dump all 18 rounds pretty dang quickly! so it goes as slow or as fast as i need.

None. Pump. My grandpa has a savage pump 22lr from 1914ish and at 100 yards it does real good work on squirrels

Agreed. I choose lever cause he didn't say pump was an option.

Pumps might be accurate but a lever gun can be plenty accurate enough. And I've seen videos of people firing a lever rifle as fast as a semi-auto or close to it. But that takes a LOT of practice which is why I would choose a semi-auto.

Think about this. The accuracy is only slightly off from what a good bolt action will shoot. I've shot groups of under .4" at 90 yards with my Marlin 60 and all in the bullseye. I've done it more than once too. I've nailed squirrels at 50 yards right behind the ear (exactly where I was aiming) with that rifle too. Add to that the ability to fire as fast as you can pull the trigger and you have a rifle with a big advantage IMO.

I've got very accurate .22 bolt action rifles. I have a CZ 453 and a Savage MkIIBTV. I've shot lots of groups under .25" with both at 50 yards. And the accuracy is certainly better. But it's not so much better it overcomes the ability to fire fast and often.

Sweet little rifle and great practice if you shoot a pump shotgun. They are expensive though.
