Default old jc higgins model 30 trouble feeding

Hey guys my wife just got her dads old jc higgins model 30 22lr. Took it somewhat apart and cleaned it. Really gummed up and dirty. Went out and shot it last night and its having feeding issues and breaking bullets. Gonna take it apart little more tonight and take a look.....what should I look for???

Sorry its been way more than 20 years since I worked on one of those. But all tube fed 22's are similar, you have a cartridge guide and a cartridge lifter most likely it is one of those or both.
