Henry lever gun although I prefer a 1960s marlin 39a versatile in that it can shoot short longs etc. and if you prefer a bolt get the savage very accurate out of the box. Especially if it has that accu-trigger.

I have a marlin 795 and I don't think it can be beat for the price. Real light and it's really accurate. And you can feed any ammo through it. My only complaint is the synthetic stock. But that can be replaced.

I'm on board with the lever action crowd. My Marlin 39a will be with me for the long haul. I love that gun !

I also have a savage markII great rifle. My only problem it's picky on ammo. Or maybe it was just my mag. I recently bought a new mag, I have yet to try it out though.

Love the Henry lever myself.

Either that, or a bolt-action, as a tack driver.

Henry is a great gun. I bought my girlfriend a 10/22 and that's a great rifle too. I'm kinda interested in the ruger American rimfire. I might have to pick one of those up

Good choice, once you get the barrel broke in you will love it. Lever actions look cool but they are rough on the fingers. I don't own a lever action. Every time someone wants to sight a lever gun in they end up here. I get out the gloves and pray my arthritic hands survive the session.
