I just mounted my new Nikon P-22 BDC scope (2-7x 35mm) on top of my 22 GLENFIELD MOD. 60 (Marlin)

I went to the Nikon Hunting site to get the bullet drop figured out.

I figure a 50 yard zero and the standard .22 LR is 40 grain and 1,200 FPS.

So made a chart for me to print out and tape to the butt stock.

Y such high scope rings? The closer the scope is to the barrel the smaller the angle will be to your point of impact... Thus making it easier to hit targets a little closer or farther away... I know we aren't talking about much but they just look a bit to high for me! How much u pay?

I just had these scope rings laying around so i decided to use them and bought the Nikon scope. Got it from OpticsPlanet.

Why is the scope so high off the barrel?
1. They were the scope rings I had at the time.
2. Having the scope is 2" above the bore, might make my bullet "float" further down range.

If my scope 0 meets my boar 0 at 50 yards, my bullet trajectory will be moving upward until that point allowing for less bullet drop by the time it floats past the 100 yards. How much this is affected I don't know because the Nikon site didn't take this into account.

ALSO, I can still use the iron sights, clear as day under the scope rings.
