how much time and money does it cost to do that to a rifle. i have a savage mark 2-TR that id like to do this to.

You can get the heavy bottom metal from SavageGunsmithing
Either blue or stainless looking powder coated.

I sell these ( FVSR and TRSR) both are threaded the 16" is amazingly accurate. These are kind of hard to come by, the distributors are in stock one day and out the next. Shoot me an IM for more info.

Savagegunsmithing does a really good accuracy job on them for about $200.
They did mine and on a good day, it will shoot in the .1"'s, with a best 5 shot group of .117", 5 @ 50 yds. The trigger is fantastic, drops at 12 OZ, no creep, crisp as can be. They also shorten barrels and thread them and put a realy nice cap over the threads to protect them.

I you want work done on your Savage, they are the place.
