Default New .17HMR

Hey All,

I just picked up a new rifle. It's a Savage model 93 in .17 HMR with the heavy barrel. I haven't gotten to the range yet, but I hope to get a scope on it this week, then make a range run next weekend. I almost bought a Marlin as I found a few for a good bit cheaper, but decided to hold out for the Savage. I can't wait to test it out.

I bought one many years ago. I put a $50 24x 50mm scope on it. I hung empty tin cans on thin string at 100 yards my first time using it. It was so accurate that I would hit the string and make the can dance until the string broke.
I also took a woodchuck at 75 yards with a head shot. He peeked up one too many times from the brush he was hiding in.
Now that I have access to a 200 yard range I want to try my aim there. I also would not hesitate to use it on coyote if they ever came out in the daylight.
It is a super accurate, very versatile rifle that is a joy to shoot and fairly inexpensive.
