Default New 17HMR!

and my first today went down to my local guns store http://www.kygunco.com/ and traded in a Colt M4 22LR and a Taurus Pt709 Slim and picked up a Savage Arms 93R17 Bull barrel wooden stock came with one 5rd clip. Also picked up a box of Hornady 17Gr ballistic tips and a box of CCI FMJ 20Gr.

Can't wait to shoot her definite range report in the future.

Hang a high power scope on it and hang on for some little bitty groups. makes 100 yard easy and will make some high dollar rifle owners nuts. It is a rimfire and can be picky about ammo. All 17hmr is loaded by CCI but with different bullets so you may have to try them all to find one thats better than another. Thanks fully theres not but a few.

Go over to rimfirecentral and drop down to the savage section and visit. Lots of good info there and in the 17cal section. Enjoy.

Those guns are very accurate but remember to clean it like a centerfire rifle cause bullets are copper jacketed and need to use a copper remover but with that said one of the most fun guns out there with a high power scope you will be shooting flies at 100m with ease. Have fun

I just bought the same gun today...and love it. Dime sized groups at 100 yards is cake with this rifle.

Hardluk1 - this is all your fault. I still like my .223, but the .17HMR is a lot fun. Can't wait for some squirrels.
