Default Need help ! Marlin model 60

I know some people on here are very experienced in gun smithing. My marlin model 60 will not chamber. The bolt carrier will not close when the little "close bolt" button is pushed. Seems to be stuck open. Any suggestions ?

Try pulling the charging handle all the way to the rear then pull the handle out and away from the bolt. Marlin 60 have a manual bolt hold open. To lock it you pull the bolt to the rear and push the charging handle in.

Also, if you tighten the action screws too much, it'll do the same thing.
Back off the screws 1/4 turn until the LSHO releases properly/action works.
Just for further reference.

None of the above.

The ejector pin is bent.

Usually happens when someone rams a cleaning brush into it.

Hi Powersportgiant,

Welcome to the FTF.

I cleaned my Marlin 60, now I like it better than

a rifle I paid 3 times as much for. IMO a great

rifle for any collection...
