So you and I will be doing some shooting this spring! There are a few places we can go woodchuck or coon hunting up in Northfield. Might get some fox or coyotes also.

The 17HM2 is not popular but is an excellent round. The first real improvement to the 22lr in a century. I have found ammo is about 1/2 the cost of 17HMR but you pretty much have to find it on line. I bought a Savage MKII HV for my wife in 17HM2 and restocked it to fit her. I would like to have a CZ452 American in 17HM2 for myself. They need to bring out a less explosive bullet but they are capable of head shots on squirrels out to 100 yards. I stocked up on ammo a while back so she wont run out any time soon. I am thinking of ordering a Boyds Evolution stock in case she gets tired of it and I can switch it back to fit me. The stock that comes with the HV stinks.

The 17 HMR Cartridge is an incredible accurate cartridge. You can buy the Savage 93R17 or the Marlin both bolt actions. Henry makes the .17HMR in lever action .
You can not go wrong,The Savage & Marlin are less expensive
than the Henry and are more accurate. You can buy the Savage in one of there package deals with a scope. Enjoy, Cliff

Cleaning supplies for a .17 isn't that difficult to find. Pick up a Hoppe's .17 bore snake and you'll be good to go. It has the brush built into the snake. I'd be afraid to use any potential cleaning rod on one. It would be too flimsy and most likely bend with little pressure, potentially in the barrel with a good chance of marring the bore.

Well, I'm not a hunter........BUT, if you want to make little holes (and big patterns) in paper, I'm down.

Cheaper then buying local. My.22mag is about 9.53 from the same place. Grabbed 6 boxes of 30gr. Has anyone had any luck finding .22lr? I'm sitting on a few bricks, but there is nothing out there to be found. Both .17HMR and .22WMR are great little rounds. Both of my rifles will shoot well under an inch at 100 yards. Great rounds for woodchucks and vermin.
There was plenty of .22lr at the gun show, $50 for a box of federal bulk 525 count! I'll wait, azzhole!

Try it, you might like it and it is a great offer from someone who knows what he is doing.

Oh, no doubt it's a great offer. I might go along, but guts is something I don't do. Also, I don't like to eat shoot-yer-own meat. Personal reasons, nothing against hunting.......

The "game" are vermin. I'm not eating woodchuck. I have eaten crow, just ask my wife! Targets are fine. I've got about 50 golf balls that make fun targets.

primer1, that is nuts, plain nuts.

OK, I have no problem killing some golf balls! Would a can of tannerite in a sack of flour make a good target?
