I've also found out there may be a relatively simple mod you can do on the 795 to make it accept the old 25-round model 70HC mags...but I'm waiting on actually getting my hands on a 70HC mag to figure out the whole thing...gun show this weekend, which hopefully will have one/two

I bought a used Marlin60 about a year ago for $110, scope included. '82 model, so it takes 18 rounds in the tube . I wound up removing the scope and just using the iron sights and its a great gun thats provided hours of fun! Ive been debating "tricking it out" to be a nice low cal sniper rifle, but Im satisfied plinking around for now. I own several guns and its one of my favorites. Best money Ive spent on guns so far, IMO.
I agree with Doggone06, I like the feel an heft of the 60, I also agree with the other guy about polishing. BTW after U spend an other 250 bucks on the 10-22 it might shoot on par with the 60. Good luck show us pictures when your done. BTW I like the THE 60!
