Mossberg 702 Plinkster .22 Bolt Rifle.

Some say this is a good rifle for the cost:

"absolutely great gun for the money, shoots 1 inch to 2 inch groups at 100 yards, open sights."

"This little rifle shoots just as good if not better than the higher priced .22 rifles."

I am thinking about getting this rifle as a plinker. What are your thoughts?

I got one at Dick's Sporting Goods a couple of years ago at a Black Friday sale for about $100. Great little rifle, shoots great, accurate, light weight withe the synthetic stock. I say go get one. I think I picked up a couple extra 10 round magazines on ebay or amazon.

The 802 is bolt action where as the 702 is semi auto. Both are great little guns.

Have the bolt action! Great little plinker, been through two car wrecks and still accurate! First gun I bought when I turned 18. Love it to death, you can't go wrong.

My wife bought a Mossberg Plinkster back when it was sold as the Magtech Model 7022. It's a good little .22 rifle. Here's a review that I wrote shortly after we got it -

A Rifle Review: The MagTech Model 7022 (aka Mossberg 702 Plinkster) .22 Caliber Rifle
