I've got a Stevens 87B that takes S,L,LR. I have my Henry GB that takes S,L,LR. I have an old Marlin model 60 and a Marlin 25 and a Ruger 10/22 that are all LR only. The GB gets used the most followed by the Stevens. The rest haven't been fired in several years.
The Marlin tube feed lever and bolt actions will shoot all three, so will the single shot 15Y.
With the price of 22lr, the limited selection of short and long and the availability of sub-sonic long rifle there's not much reason to shoot the short or long anymore. Unless you have a firearm chambered in one or the other.
