benefits of tube feed mags...
Ya almost Never forget your mag at home on range day...lol
holds shorts, longs, or LR's...feeds all equally, and can feed all three in the same tube...
(note: shorts might not cycle the bolt, but that's expected...close-range rat killing ammo anyway...)
make some home-made reloaders Cheap...or get a Spee-D-Loader...under $20 anyway...lol

Once you get used to using a reloader on a tube mag, you can load faster than the average 1022 owner can fumble with his...

Got a chance to test fire one of these really freaking nice accurate reliable and the shorts feedthrough like nothing Everyone Once in a a while a shell will go straight up and back into the chamber Function the bolt fast and it'll never happen

I have shot two Marlin XT 22 MR. A landowner owns one he lets me borrow to hunt predators on his property. I liked it so much I bought one for myself. The 22MR has a 4 shot and a 7 shot box type magazine. The first XT-22MR I got shot very high. I sent it back to remlin and they replaced it without any hassle. It took about 2 weeks to get the new rifle on my doorstep. Now that I have shot the rifle enough to get used to it and the barrel broke in my regular steel targets are not a challenge. I shoot golf balls and 12 ga hulls for practice at around 100 yards. I don't know if you already have a 22LR. If you do I would splurge and get the 22 wmr. The 22 wmr has about double the range of a 22LR. It has about the same energy at the muzzle as 9mm pistol. I shot a fox in the head with a Hornady Vmax. The Vmax just about blew the side of his head off. It was windy and the fox was over a 100 yards away, I would have to get lucky to hit the fox at all with a 22 LR. At 100 yards the 22 LR drops about 6". Another advantage of the 22 WMR is landowners don't object to me hunting with it. They all object to me using a 5.56 x 45. I am not out there to educate landowners. I just want to hunt with as little hassle as possible.

I'll agree, a Marlin 25MN got me hooked on Marlin rifles, due to its unreal precision with 40- & 50-grain ammo
It'll eat anything, but truly shines with big fat bullets!!
Microgroove barrels have a tendancy towards larger ammo due to the lands & grooves being smaller...there being 12 instead of 6...
but when you find the rifle's favorite combo...it just puts the bullet wherever you put the crosshairs
