So it was really nice out yesterday barely any wind so I went out and shot my xt-22 I got 1 and 1/4 inch groups at about 60 yards with federal bulk ammo (not counting the flyers). How much better do you think my grouping would get with some better ammo like match grade? And as for bulk I'm going to try some cci blazers, do you think those will be better than federal?

22's like or dislike some ammo. Each gun is like a person- one guy might like Coors and the next might like Miller. No one can tell you what brand your gun will like. Try many and remember what works best. Plus its fun trying out the ammo!

Find the one it likes best and groups should be cut in half at least, maybe more. Try to shoot at 25 yards and 50 yards. It does depend a bit on how much scope you have on it and are you shooting off a bench and sand bags. Get a small note pad and give each ammo you try 10 shots to season the barrel to a different bullet and lube then make notes on the brand and try the next one. Some ammo uses a rather greasey feeling lube like wolf / sk and it does not preform as well in cold weather . If you try some roll it around in a old towel and remove some in cold weather. Most cheap ammo does not shoot great but some work well enought.
