Default Marlin XT .22

Went out yesterday to give my new Marlin XT .22 a go using the factory steel sight with winchester subs. What an amazing little gun for the price, very accurate and just an all round nice gun to shoot. Any one else had one? And what did they think of them?

I have an XT 22MR. It shoots very good right now. The first one I got shot so high I would have needed a grinder to adjust the sights. Marlin did make it good, they sent me a new rifle. I was able to sight in the second rifle. Since I have put a 1,000 rounds or so down the pipe the rifle has really come around. The local predators are on guard all the time.

Paid around $180 plus tax for a Marlin xt-22 about 7 months ago. Not much of a plastic stock guy and I just shoot paper at range I'm a member. So, made a stock for my XT22 to shoot the rifle from benchrest and put a 6-18x40 scope on it. I've no complaints about the accuracy of my XT22.

i have been wanting to get another bolt action rimfire in 22LR or 22WMR and the Marlin XT series is the one that is really appealing to me. but they don't offer them with a heavy barrel version with a wood stock, but Boyd's offers one in laminate in various colors. this may be the route i take.

http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/product.htm?pid=46917&cat=1216

MSRP on the heavy barreled 22LR is $239
MSRP on the heavy barreled 22M in stainless is $345

The Ruger American rimfires have a recall right now. There are no serial numbers that are being recalled. The recall guns do not have a roll pin sized hole in the receiver right above the serial number. I have got notices of the recall on my facebook page the past week or so.

If I can find the link in my FB feed I will post it here.

I saw it prior to this, thanks. I'm hoping one of the Shops around here has a "Ruger" day...

The Marlin with 22″ barrel. A great pick. I didn't have one but my uncle does and it always feels good to shoot with it.
