Defaultmisffiring 39A

When purchased new about a year ago, this 39A mis-fired about 1 out of 15 or 16 with several brands of ammo. Returned to factory. Returned to me and NOW mis-fires aprox. 1 out of 10. Phoned factory and was told "send it back again and mark it attention Bob Tanieri." I asked what they had done to it on first return and she stated "we replaced the firing pin and polished the chamber." The firing pin I can't comment on. It still displays a weak indentation now and then and now extracts with difficulty at times so the chamber was worked with. I don't send food back at all and once is enough on a new, 5oo dollar rifle. It is in the corner now, will be poor testimony for the company and that's that. iI may put it up for sale for about fifty bucks and include a candid chronology of it's history, however.

Sounds like your firing pin is to short. Had that problem on my Marlin Golden 39A Mountie (AC-made in 1967) after replaceing broken firing pin. Take your rifle to a competent gun smith and have him redress the firing pin, should fire every time then. Hope this helps.
