This is all the info I have on Model 15yn "Little Buckaroo". 16" barrel with 12" length of pull (LOP) and weighs 41/2 pounds. Marlin discontinued making this firearm in 2003. The original MSRP was $209.00 and they are now selling for $65.00 at 60% grading up to $155.00 at 100% grading.

This firearm should make some kid very happy. Good fined. HJ

My youngest son has a 15Y that HIS son is now shooting. These were very well made rifles that were scaled down for a youngster. Discontinued by Marlin- think sales were slow due to price. Have loaned one to a 4H hunter safety class for the kids to use in their live fire- they loved it.

Many kids have a real problem trying to use an adult sized firearm- they just cannot reach things. Those little rifles were well scaled for a small person.

I taught my kids how to shoot using the 15Y. IMHO it was a very well made rifle that never had any issues as far as functioning. Accurate as well! I sold it to a feller that wanted to get a youth rifle for his grandson. Hated to part with it but my kids have far out grown the 15Y. I get to see the rifle every once in awhile when the feller brings his grandson to the range on Tuesday nights to do a little plinking with the rest of us in the summer time.

At the time of selling the rifle I did not know my daughter was going to make me and ma grandparents. Otherwise I'd of kept that little rifle for my grandson to learn on someday. I guess now I'll have to get him a Davy Crickett.

I bought one for my daughter several years ago. She shot it for the first time last weekend (10 years old) and LOVED it. She was burning through ammo at a rate that put a blister on her trigger finger. And now she can't wait to go again.

The 15yn is is an excellent starter .22 and is very accurate, as all Marlins are. I'm glad I got it when I did, and was not awar that Marlin stopped making them.

What kind of rear Ssight do you have, a ramp type that has ben around for some years, or is ir a type that you adj. with a screw both wingage an elevation, the frist 2 numbers of serial number is the year it was made mine is 05 = made in 2005 an rear sight is the type that uses the screw to adjust . the reason I ask is my unit did not have a parts break down so I orded a copie from a gun supply place, it had the ramp adj for the rear sight adjusment on the I.P.B. just asking for info, have gone back to the gun supply place an they are working on it, an any one else can but there info on this subject it will be greatly apprecitated, if any one has a copy of the

Her rear sight is elevator (ramp) adjusted, not screw adjusted.
