Can anyone tell me the year of this gun the serial number 12423552 if anyone could help id appreciate it

I believe the Marlin 995 Rifle was made between the years of 1995 and 1999.

Yea I heard that but I also heard somone had one from around 1985. But I just need to know if its newer or older then 1996 because I guess some parts are diffrent

rob,

The previous information regarding 1995-1990 is not correct. More research on the same website showed a Model 995 with serial number 160***** which is a higher number than yours made in 1984! So yours would be older than that!

Yours was made in 1988.
The first two digits of the serial number are subtracted from 2000 to get the year.
