If the store you bought it from does service, take it back & have 'em look 'er over. A good
gun shop takes care of small problems. If you don't get it resolved there, Call & E-mail Marlin Customer Service.
Sounds like a bad spring, happens occasionally with every brand of rifle out there. It's a pain, but fixable.
